Jared Goff reveals he spoke with Derek Carr and told him "there is often a really great life" on the other side. After the 2020 season, the Los Angeles Rams decided to trade Goff to the Detroit Lions. Goff has gotten his career back on the right track and the Lions intend to have the former No 1 pick as their starter in 2023.
Meanwhile, Carr is set to be traded from the Las Vegas Raiders after nine seasons with the team. “There’s definitely life on the other side. Often times a really great life. We had a really good talk about it earlier this week.
I think his head is in a great place about it, whatever ends up happening with him," per Pro Football Talk.
Goff encouraged Carr to keep a positive spirit
The Raiders will probably trade Carr very shortly after the Super Bowl.
This week, Carr underlined his main priority going forward is to win as he wants to win a Super Bowl before he retires. “I just want to win. There’s a lot of teams that want to win. I’m just looking for teams that have made that decision consistently, that they’ll continually choose to do whatever it takes to put a winning program out there.
And so, for me, I just wanna win a championship. That’s at the forefront of my mind. It’s not money. It’s not this; it’s not that. I just want to win. I’ve thrown for the yards. I have the records. I’ve done the Pro Bowls.
It’s fun, and I’m thankful for all of it. But, as you guys have known me, that’s not at all why I do it. I want to win a championship. So that’s on the forefront. That doesn’t guarantee wherever I go to we can automatically do it, but I’m just trying to find the place where I have the best chance possible," Carr explained.
The Raiders have given Carr's agent permission to speak with teams who have agreed to compensation with Las vegas.
