Raiders legend Tim Brown explains why Raiders should not pursue Tom Brady

Raiders legend Tim Brown doesn't think that Tom Brady is the best quarterback option for his former team. Late in the 2022 season, the Raiders benched Derek Carr and they are expected to move Carr shortly after the Super Bowl.

The Raiders will have a new starting quarterback in 2023 and there have been reports indicating that the Raiders plan to pursue Brady. Brown, a Raiders legend and a Hall of Fame quarterback, explained why 45-year-old Brady might not be the best option for the Raiders.

“When you look at the quarterbacks in the league today, you have very few who are pocket quarterbacks. Joe Burrow [in Cincinnati] is probably the closest thing you get but when it is time to run, he can get out of the pocket and make it happen.

Tom Brady is never going to do that," Brown said on the Maggie & Perloff show, per Sports Illustrated.

Brady has not confirmed he will continue his career but the general expectation is that he will continue playing.

After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers exited the playoffs two weeks ago, Brady revealed he would be taking it day by day. "I'm gonna go home and get a good night's sleep -- as good as I can tonight. This has been all I've focused on -- this game.

It'll just be one day at a time. Truly," Brady said. This week, Brady was asked on a podcast if he had decided his next move. "Jim, if I knew what I was gonna f------ do, I’d already [have] f------ done it. I’m taking it a day at a time," Brady said.

The Raiders have one of the most talented offensive groups in the NFL but this season they didn't deliver. The Raiders felt Carr didn't do his job and they are now set to bring in a new quarterback for 2023.
