Julian Edelman believes if Tom Brady does decide to return in 2023 that definitely won't be with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady, who signed with the Buccaneers three years ago, is now a free agent. After winning the Super Bowl in his first year with the Buccaneers, the last two seasons ended with a divisional and wild-card round losses.
"If he has another season, it's not going to be in Tampa Bay," Edelman said on Inside the NFL, per CBS Sports. According to some reports, the Las Vegas Raiders are one of the teams to watch out for Brady's services in 2023.
"Tom's a businessman, Tom's a smart guy. He's going to do exactly what he did when he left New England. He's going to go to the best situation that helps him win, if he wants to continue his playing career. I don't know," Edelman added.
Edelman does not expect Brady to return to the Buccaneers
On Monday Night Football, the Buccaneers hosted the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round. The home field didn't help the Buccaneers, who suffered a 31-14 defeat.
After the game was over, Brady was asked about his future. Answering the question, Brady said he is planning to take it a day by day. "I'm gonna go home and get a good night's sleep -- as good as I can tonight. This has been all I've focused on -- this game.
It'll just be one day at a time. Truly," Brady said. After the Buccaneers' 2021 season ended, Brady announced his retirement from football. 40 days later, Brady announced he was coming out of retirement for his 23rd season in the NFL.
Since then, Brady divorced his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen. Now, the general expectation is that Brady will return in 2023. Also, the general expectation is that Brady will be wearing a different jersey in 2023.
