Damar Hamlin continues to make remarkable progress as he has been discharged from the hospital. On Monday, Hamlin was moved from a Cincinnati hospital to a hospital in Buffalo. Two days after returning to Buffalo, Hamlin has been discharged from the hospital and he will continue his recovery at home.
"Damar Hamlin has been discharged from Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, a Kaleida Health facility in Buffalo, NY. Hamlin was admitted on Monday and went through a comprehensive medical evaluation as well as a series of cardiac, neurological and vascular testing on Tuesday," the Bills said in their statement.
On Tuesday, the physicians at the Buffalo hospital evaluated Hamlin's condition through multiple tests. The tests showed great results and Hamlin is now continuing his recovery at home. "We have completed a series of tests and evaluations, and in consultation with the team physicians, we are confident that Damar can be safely discharged to continue his rehabilitation at home and with the Bills," Dr.
Jamie Nadler, the care team lead for Hamlin at Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute, said in a statement.
Hamlin grateful for the support
After Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed on the field, the whole NFL community gathered to send their prayers and support to the Bills safety.
Over the weekend, Hamlin made his first comments since the injury. In an Instagram post, Hamlin expressed his gratitude to everyone who showed support when he needed it the most. "When you put real love out into the world it comes back to you 3x's as much.
The Love has been overwhelming, but I'm thankful for every single person that prayed for me and reached out. We brung the world back together behind this. If you know me you know this only gone make me stronger. On a long road keep praying for me," Hamlin wrote on Instagram.
