Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles says Tom Brady is a very private person and he is unsure whether his divorce impacted his play on the field at the start of the year. In August, it was reported that Brady and Gisele Bundchen were going through marital problems.

This past Thursday, the Buccaneers suffered a 27-22 loss to the Baltimore Ravens - the loss which pushed them to a 3-5 record. Brady has been playing some of his worst football this season as many believe his marital problems negatively impacted his play on the field.

“I can’t say for sure. You know Tom is a very private person. He does his job when he’s out here and he smiles a lot and that’s really all you can go by,” Bowles said, per the Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud.

“I think everybody, no matter what profession, you go through some things, it’s how you handle it and come out of it. I’m sure he has something weighing on when he leaves work or everything. I don’t know how much.

I guess that’s a question for him”.

Brady confirmed his divorce

On Friday, Brady and Bundchen released statements, in which they confirmed the rumors that they were divorcing. In his statement, Brady wished nothing but the best to his now ex-wife.

"In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage. We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way.

We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve. We arrived at this decision to end our marriage after much consideration. Doing so is, of course, painful and difficult, like it is for many people who go through the same thing every day around the world.

However we wish only the best for each other as we pursue whatever new chapters in our lives that are yet to be written. And we kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate what is to come in the days and weeks ahead. Thank you," Brady said. It remains to be seen how will Brady play after his divorce was finalized.
