Nikola Jokic after Anthony Davis game-winner: He is the best scorer in the NBA

Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic dropped the ultimate praise on Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James and Anthony Davis following a disappointing Game 2 loss. The Nuggets fell just short of beating the Lakers in Game 2 and tying the series to 1-1 as Davis hit a game-winning three-pointer in the face of Jokic to give the Lakers a 105-103 win.

After the game, Jokic called three-time NBA champion James "the best player in the league," before adding that Davis is "the best scorer in the league." James scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Game 2, while Davis dropped a game-high 31 points and also collected nine rebounds.

"I mean, they have two really good, really good players,” Jokic began, per Lakers Nation. “They have LeBron, who is probably the best player in the league, and they have A.D., who is probably the best scorer in the league.

I think it’s not easy to figure them out. They are really talented. “We can just make it tough, make them feel uncomfortable. They’re going to find solutions”.

Jokic knew Davis' shot was going in

"I think I had a really good contest, to be honest.

I think I was right there,” Jokic said. “As soon as he shot the ball, he shot it really well. Like, I kind of felt it going in. I think great players make great shots. He did it. He’s a really good player”.

Meanwhile, Lakers forward Markieff Morris spoke positively of the Nuggets and underlined the Lakers absolutely can't take them for granted. "After watching them beat two great teams back-to-back, after being down 3-1, they are the comeback kids.

They like to come back. So we know we haven’t had their best shot yet,” Morris said. “We know they aren’t down 3-1 and it’s still early, but like I said we are a veteran team and we have a goal in mind and we want to keep working towards our goal.

"We’re not letting up, we’re going to play hard, we’re going to play together. We’re going to be aggressive the whole series, but you have to respect them. They’re in the Western Conference Final for a reason.

“We don’t ever think it’s going to be easy and we hope it not going to be easy. We want to go out there and play at the highest level and play our brand of basketball every night”.
