Former NBA point guard Sebastian Telfair, known for his 10-year tenure in the league, recently shared a humorous anecdote from his basketball days during an interview. Telfair, a journeyman in the NBA, shed light on a memorable encounter with the legendary Kobe Bryant, shedding insight into the Mamba Mentality that defined the Lakers icon.

Kobe Bryant, a formidable force on the court, was renowned not only for his incredible skills but also for his penchant for engaging in spirited trash talk. Sebastian Telfair had a firsthand experience of Kobe's verbal prowess, which he recalled vividly during his appearance on "Vlad TV." Telfair recounted an incident when Kobe approached him in the weight room and delivered a classic line.

Bryant confidently stated, "Man, you know how I know y'all can't guard me? When the ball hits my hand, I know y'all arrived here on a bus." He continued, "I got here on a helicopter. I just got off a helicopter, and you got off a bus.

It's a bucket." Telfair, left momentarily speechless, couldn't help but admire Kobe's wit.

NBA Journey and Rivalries

During his extensive NBA career, Sebastian Telfair frequently faced off against Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Telfair's journey in the league began in 2004 when he decided to forgo college and entered the NBA draft. He was selected 13th overall by the Portland Trail Blazers and spent his first two seasons there before embarking on a journey marked by short stints with various teams.

Following his time with the Blazers, Telfair played for the Boston Celtics for one season and later joined the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he stayed from 2007 to 2009. After brief tenures with the LA Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers, Telfair returned to the Timberwolves in 2011.

His NBA journey also included stops with the Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors. Ultimately, Telfair wrapped up his NBA career with a brief stint with the OKC Thunder in 2015, playing in 16 games. Over his career, he averaged 7.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.

Following his tenure with the Thunder, Telfair ventured overseas for a short period before retiring in 2017. Despite primarily serving as a backup guard throughout his NBA career, Telfair managed to secure financial stability, earning over $19 million during his 10-year run in the league.
