Steve Kerr, once hailed as one of the premier coaches in the NBA, now grapples with the Golden State Warriors' disappointing 17-20 record in the 2023-24 season. While Kerr attributes the team's struggles to a notable lack of confidence, former NBA player Kendrick Perkins views the lackluster performance as a clear reflection of the head coach's leadership.

Perkins raised questions about the Warriors' recent slump, pointing to Stephen Curry's struggles and Kerr's comments about the team losing its spirit. According to Perkins, "Steve Kerr is getting exposed. We saw the Pelicans ready to play.

We saw the Pelicans going for the 50-50 balls. We saw the Pelicans contesting jump shots. We saw Toronto go in a few nights before and put up 133 on them. The spirit and energy of a team often stem from the coach's messages in practices and film sessions."

Defensive Struggles and Youth Development

Despite Kerr's reputation for strategic insight, the Warriors currently rank as the fifth-worst defensively-rated team in the league, highlighting the challenges in finding the right balance in the team's rotation.

Additionally, incorporating young talents like Jonathan Kuminga, Trayce Jackson-Davis, and Brandin Podziemski has not progressed as seamlessly as expected. Recent reports of Kuminga expressing frustration with Coach Kerr and inconsistent playing time have only added weight to Perkins' argument.

The Warriors appear to be on a rapid decline, becoming increasingly apparent to fans and analysts alike. Even Stephen Curry, the face of the Warriors' dynasty, has acknowledged the need for potential changes within the roster.

This admission came after the team's humbling 36-point defeat to the New Orleans Pelicans at Chase Center earlier in the week. "Conversations are happening between games, in film sessions, in the locker room, but it's headed in the opposite direction.

I don't know what to say about it. We're not used to this vibe around our team," Steph commented, expressing his frustration with the team's current state. As the Warriors continue to struggle, questions about Steve Kerr's coaching and the team's overall direction loom, making it a topic of intense scrutiny and discussion among basketball enthusiasts and pundits.
