The Los Angeles Lakers seem caught off guard after their recent NBA Cup victory celebration, stumbling in the NBA with a losing streak. The absence of an injured LeBron James appears to be taking its toll, as the Lakers lost 118-111 to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Minneapolis, their fifth loss in six games since the Finals against Indiana in Las Vegas.

LeBron James, who was out for the second night in a row, watched the game in a hat and hoodie. The match was dominated by Anthony Edwards regardless of the rumors off the field. Despite the accusations of adventure in passing, he had an impressive performance, scoring 27 points and dishing out seven rebounds and five assists for the Lakers.

This performance may overshadow his girlfriend's accusation that he forced her to have an abortion. Despite Karl-Anthony Towns scoring 21 points for Minnesota, he limped off the court with a calf injury. The extent of the injury is not yet known, but it seems that it is not that serious.

Gobert had a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, helping the Wolves maintain an impressive 12-1 home run.

Anthony Davis good again but not enough to avoid defeat

The Lakers' struggles have been evident since December 9, they only won against the weaker Spurs.

Their current record is 15-14, with a disappointing 5-11 on the road. Anthony Davis played a key role, scoring 31 points and grabbing eight rebounds, overcoming concerns about an ankle injury. Austin Reeves gave 20 points, Rui Hachimura 18, and Diangelo Russell one less in an attempt to turn the tide for the Lakers.

The lack of LeBron James, who is the main player and backbone of the Lakers' team game, was felt. Can the Lakers get rid of the hangover from the recent victory celebration and regain the winning momentum in the NBA League, the dissatisfaction of the fans is growing even though they raised their team to the stars after winning the cup.

For that, they will need the return of LeBron James and the support of the crowd that was lost after several defeats. The clock is ticking and the season continues, so they need to regain their form as soon as possible if they want to be serious contenders.
