There were two stunning games in the NBA on Wednesday night, with the Los Angeles Clippers extending their winning streak and the Philadelphia 76ers relying on a dominant performance from Joel Embiid who played another great game.

Currently, along with Jokic, he is the leading favorite to win the MVP title.

Clippers showed mental strength

In Dallas, the Clippers stole the show, emerging victorious 120-111 despite playing on the road. The game featured the Clippers in firm control, overcoming occasional comebacks by the Mavericks.

However, Los Angeles really put the game away in the last two and a half minutes with a decisive 9-0 run and in the end deservedly celebrated. Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers, showing his all-around brilliance with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

Norman Powell provided excellent support, pouring in 21 points of his own. Despite a valiant effort by Luka Doncic with 28 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds, the Mavericks ultimately lost, falling to 16-11 in the Western Conference.

Meanwhile, the Clippers continue their ascent, climbing to fourth place with a 17-10 record.

Embiid's monstrous 51 points

The Philadelphia 76ers excelled in their clash at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Eastern Conference leaders, who boast just six losses on the season, faced a determined challenge from the visiting Timberwolves.

However, Joel Embiid's dominant power proved to be too much to handle. Embiid's monstrous performance of 51 points and 12 rebounds led the 76ers to a 127-113 victory. Tyrese Maxey provided valuable firepower with 35 points, while Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 27 points.

Despite Karl Anthony Towns' double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds, Minnesota came up short in the end. Dominant players like Embiid lead their teams to victory. As the season heats up, expect more exciting games and individual fireworks in the days to come, and Embiid is one of the top 3 favorites to win the MVP award this season. If there are no unforeseen circumstances and injuries, we will surely witness perhaps Embiid's best season so far.
