The Milwaukee Bucks triumphed over the San Antonio Spurs with a convincing 132-119 victory in a recent matchup, marking their 20th win of the season. The star of the game was Bucks player Demjan Lillard, who not only played a key role in the team's success but also achieved a significant personal milestone.

Lillard became the eighth active NBA player to surpass the 20,000-point mark in his career, joining an elite group of basketball greats. His standout performance in the game included an impressive 40 points, along with four assists, three rebounds and three steals.

Reflecting on this achievement, Lillard humbly acknowledged the significance of reaching such a milestone. "I don't want to pretend it's nothing. I know it's a big deal, a big accomplishment. I'm in rare company," Lillard said.

Lillard among the legends

Among active players with over 20,000 points, Lillard shares this distinction with basketball legends such as LeBron James, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, DeMar DeRozan and Chris Paul.

Lillard, James, Curry and Harden stand out as the only players in history who have collected at least 20,000 points, 5,000 assists and 2,000 three-pointers each. The Bucks' victory was a joint effort, Bobby Portis had 23 points and 10 rebounds, Chris Middleton added 17 points, and Janis Adetokunbo had a triple-double performance with 11 points, 16 assists and 14 rebounds.

Milwaukee's win also extended their home court dominance, securing their 14th straight home win. This remarkable streak is the second longest by a team since their 20 game streak from April 19, 1990 to January 8, 1991. On the San Antonio side, Keldon Johnson led the team with 28 points and 12 rebounds, while Zach Collins contributed 22 points and eight rebounds.

Unfortunately, Victor Vembanjama has been ruled out with an ankle problem, which has affected Spurs' line-up in a challenging match against the Bucks.

There was also praise from coach Adrian Griffin

"When you look at what Damian does, it's clear that he's a good shooter.

He can stretch the opponent, he puts the defense under a lot of pressure. If you bring out your tall players, he goes past them. He's physically strong enough to finish under the basket. There's no weakness in that offensive line. work," said Griffin.
