For years, NBA fans have rightly complained that the regular season has become uninteresting and practically excruciating by the time the playoffs begin. However, since the beginning of the 2022/2023 season, the innovation called "Tournament in the NBA season" has significantly increased interest.

This was clearly seen last night, when there were two quarter-final games on the program when it comes to the popular "NBA Cup". We got new semi-finalists in very interesting duels.

Pacers move on, Halliburton dominated again

The Indiana Pacers defeated the favored Boston Celtics 122:112 in their "Gainbridge Fieldhouse" and achieved another spectacular victory.

The team from Indianapolis is one of the "hits" of the current season - they play by far the fastest pace, and they are led by young playmaker Tyris Halliburton, one of the legitimate candidates for the MVP award. The American representative from Manila was also key in this duel - Haliburton was the most important player in his team's victory with 26 points (16 in the second half, 10/18 from the field overall), 10 rebounds and 13 assists.

The attack with which he brought his team four points with a minute and a half to go is especially important - he made a three-pointer with a foul, then made a free throw. He was followed by Buddy Hield, a fellow guard from the Bahamas, who scored 21 points, writes Sport Klub.

With the Celtics, the best player was Jayson Tatum, the best player of November in the Eastern Conference. This time he had 32 points and 12 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown added 30 points and 9 rebounds. Kristaps Porzingis did not play due to a calf injury.

After this defeat, the Boston Celtics, since the results in the Cup are counted in the regular score, have a balance of 15-5, while the "artillery" of Rick Carlisle in the Pacers jersey is 11-8. Indiana is 4-0 in the Cup. Indiana awaits the winner of the Milwaukee Bucks - New York Knicks duel in the "Eastern Finals" in the NBA Cup. That game is played tonight.
