Nikola Jokic, the reigning NBA MVP, made a triumphant return to the court after a brief absence due to back pain, leading the Denver Nuggets to a convincing 134-124 victory over the Houston Rockets. Jokic's dominant performance, marked by his seventh triple-double of the season, highlighted a night of impressive contributions from the Nuggets' star lineup.

Concern arose over Jokic's participation in the game due to nagging back pain. However, the Serbian center defied expectations, went on the field and led his team to a convincing victory. Jokic's triple-double performance, his 112th of his career, showed his versatility and unparalleled talent.

In just over 33 minutes of play, Jokic collected 32 points, 10 rebounds and 15 assists, showing his ability to score, rebound and distribute the ball with equal efficiency. His leadership and all-around play were key in securing the Nuggets victory.

Good game by Michael Porter Jr

Michael Porter Jr. provided exceptional support to Jokić, who emerged as a goal threat, hitting seven three-pointers from 12 attempts. Porter's 30-point performance, along with his 10 rebounds and five assists, further solidified the Nuggets' offensive firepower.

Jamal Murray, who returned to the court after nearly a month out with a hamstring injury, also made a significant contribution to the Nuggets' victory. Murray, despite not regaining his full rhythm, provided a much-needed spark, scoring 16 points with six assists and rebounds.

Reggie Jackson, another key member of the Nuggets' rotation, scored 14 points, adding to the team's offensive output. For the Rockets, Jalen Green and Alperen Şengün led the scorers with 26 and 22 points, respectively.

However, their individual brilliance was not enough to overcome the Nuggets' collective dominance. Houston had a couple of good periods during the game, where Green made some good scoring runs, but in the end it wasn't enough to beat the defending champions.

Nikola Jokic's return from injury and his subsequent triple-double performance served as a fitting reminder of his enormous impact on the Nuggets' success. With Jokic at the helm, the Nuggets look poised to continue their winning streak and make a strong push for another NBA championship. Although they won the last game without Jokic, it was clear that his presence boosted the confidence of his teammates.
