The Atlanta Hawks put on a dominant performance on the road against the Washington Wizards, securing a convincing 108-136 victory. The Hawks' offensive prowess proved unstoppable, as they poured in 136 points, leaving the Wizards with little hope of a comeback.

The Hawks set the tone early, establishing a commanding 70-53 lead by halftime. Their hot streak continued in the third quarter, where they outscored the Wizards by 17 points, effectively sealing the outcome of the game. Trey Young, the Hawks' star point guard, led the team with a double-double of 26 points, six rebounds and ten assists.

Diandre Hunter provided valuable support with 20 points and four rebounds. For the Wizards, Jared Butler was the best with 13 points. Kyle Kuzma, Daniel Gafford and Landry Shamet each contributed 12 points. The win lifted the Hawks to an 8-7 record, placing them in eighth place in the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, the Wizards' struggles continued as they remained at the bottom of the conference with a dismal 2-14 record.

The dominance of Atlanta's triple threat

The Hawks' ability to knock down 3-pointers proved to be the deciding factor in their victory.

They connected on 17 of their 36 three-point attempts, while the Wizards struggled from deep, making just 9 of their 35 attempts. This emphasis on long-range shooting emphasized the Hawks' offensive versatility. Young, Hunter and several other Hawks players showed their ability to stretch the floor and create open shots from beyond the arc.

The Wizards' struggles continue

Washington's disappointing season continued with this loss. Their inability to contain the Hawks offense and their struggles on the defensive end of the court were evident throughout the game.

The Wizards' young core, including Rui Hachimura and Danny Avdia, have shown glimpses of potential, but they have yet to translate that potential into wins consistently. The next game for the Atlanta Hawks is against the Boston Celtics on November 27, 2023.

The Washington Wizards' next game is on November 28, 2023 against the Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. The Wizards will have a chance against an average Detroit team to improve their overall score.
