Dwight Howard has now transitioned away from the NBA, having played his last season in Taiwan. For many years, he was considered one of the greatest athletes in the NBA, despite his admission that at the start of his career, he had an astonishing daily intake of 25 chocolate bars!

Before games, he indulged in a meal at McDonald's, consisting of two double cheeseburgers, a large order of french fries, a small order of french fries, a milkshake, and a large soda. However, over the course of his career, he made significant changes in his diet.

Former Lakers nutritionist Kate Shanahan publicly disclosed this information, and Dwight Howard himself didn't shy away from acknowledging it.
"When I first entered the league it was okay to eat whatever I wanted. I realized that it wasn't going to help me in the long run and I had to learn what to eat, what foods would give me more energy.,When I learned to eat steaks and lifting weights was much easier for me.

There is a time and a place for everything, and if I want to eat some crazy food, I will do it between seasons. After that, I will prepare my body for the new year, and I get motivation from fighters who lose even more of 10 kilograms during seven weeks of preparation," said the experienced center.

After he changed his diet, he feels much better

The illustrious NBA champion, known for his eight NBA All-Star appearances and the prestigious title of three-time Defensive Player of the Year, candidly shared his former love for sugary treats and pastries.

These indulgences were once a constant presence in his life, offering a comforting escape from the rigors of professional basketball. However, as his career evolved, so did his understanding of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

He came to recognize that the allure of sweets and pastries came at a cost – affecting not only his athletic performance but also his overall well-being. This realization spurred a transformative journey of self-discipline and dietary changes.

It's a testament to his commitment and dedication to the game that he was willing to make such significant adjustments in order to achieve the incredible success and accolades that he did during his illustrious NBA career.

"Skittles, honey brownies, all live chocolates. I had loads of candy in my diet, I ate all the chocolate I could eat, all live snacks... Now my diet is such that you wouldn't taste most of what I eat! I changed that and I felt that I get tired more slowly during the matches, that my body feels different, I felt many good things. But I liked the most that I don't get tired and that I can play longer," revealed Howard.
