Shannon Sharpe slaims Giannis Antetokounmpo's shot at Kevin Durant: Unnecessary

Shannon Sharpe wasn't a fan of hearing Giannis Antetokounmpo take a shot at Kevin Durant. In 2016, Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder to join Golden State Warriors' superteam - he played there for three seasons and won two titles.

After three and a half years in Brooklyn and not winning a championship there, Durant asked for a trade and the Nets granted him his wish by trading him to the Phoenix Suns. “You keep joining superteams to win an NBA title.

How about we work out together sometime so I can teach you how to carry your own team?” Antetokounmpo said on The Daily Show.

“It wasn’t cute and was unnecessary.

Remember what you were doing before you traded for Jrue Holiday and before Middleton came of age? You weren’t carrying anything anywhere," Sharpe said on Undisputed.

The Suns had a star-studded team even before Durant joined them.

Now, the Suns have four legitimate stars on their rosters - Durant, Devin Booker, Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton. Durant himself believes the Suns have the pieces to win it all. "I think we got all the pieces to be successful.

We got guys that have experienced what it's like to play in that final round. We got a champion [Suns GM James Jones] already that's overseeing us. Monty's a champion as a coach. So we got guys that been there and that's half the battle, just knowing what it takes," Durant said.

After Durant decided to ask the Nets for a trade, the Suns were the team where he wanted to be traded. "You got somebody like Devin [Booker] and Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton, guys that work. And I wanted to be part of that, so I'm excited I'm here," Durant said. On Wednesday, the Suns are taking on the Charlotte Hornets and Durant is making his Suns debut.
