'Frustrated' Kyrie Irving: We can't be just one of the teams in the way for Celtics

Kyrie Irving wasn't happy after the Brooklyn Nets got demolished by the Boston Celtics as he noted that the Nets needed to come into the game determined to send a message. On Wednesday night, the Nets got absolutely crushed in Boston as the Celtics had a stunning 30-point lead after the first quarter.
The rest of the game wasn't great either for the Nets as the Celtics in the end clinched a 139-96 win. The Celtics entered the game with the best record in the NBA but Irving - whose Nets are the fourth-best team in the NBA - underlined the Nets can't allow themselves "to be just one of those in the way." “When you’re going against a very motivated team such as the Boston Celtics, they have a chip on their shoulder.
It’s clear as day that they want to win a championship and not waste any time in the regular season. So tonight I felt like we were just one of those teams in the way and we just can’t be one of those teams in the way.
We got to be one of those teams that stands up to them and at least shows them that we’re going to be competition for them moving forward, which I believe we are," Irving said, per MassLive.
Irving one of two Nets' players that finished in double digits
The Nets had a rough night in every aspect as only two Nets players finished in double digits against the Nets.
For the Nets, Irving had a team-high 20 points and he also grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists. The other Net that finished in double digits was Cam Thomas, who had 19 points. The Nets have played the Celtics three times so far this season and they have as many losses.
But if there's one positive for the Nets is that they were playing without three key players on Wednesday - Kevin Durant, Ben Simmons and TJ Warren.
