Jayson Tatum voiced some support and belief in Jaylen Brown after the Boston Celtics star missed two key free throws late in the game against the New York Knicks. With the Knicks 118-117 up in overtime against the Celtics, Brown had two free throws with seven seconds left on the clock.

Brown missed both of his free throws as the Knicks went on to win 120-117. “I mean, everybody needs a ‘pick me up.' We got the utmost confidence in him. I can’t bet on NBA games, but I would bet everything I got if he was in that situation again, he would knock them both down.

Just short-term memory, move on and get ready for Saturday," Tatum said of his message to Brown, per TalkBasket.

Following the Celtics' loss to the Knicks, Brown took the responsibility and admitted that he just didn't do well enough.

“I’ve just got to be better, to be honest. Tonight was a rough game, and I’m a better basketball player than I played today. Those two missed free throws kind of embodied the whole game. I didn’t get it going, didn’t give my teammates enough energy to get the win, and that’s what happens when you don’t come out and give your best.

I’ll be better," Brown said. Brown didn't shoot the ball well from the field as he went 8-of-22. Brown shot a disappointing 1-of-8 from beyond the arc and missed two critical free throws. Reflecting on his performance, Brown admitted that it was lackluster one.

"I wasn’t efficient tonight. I had a couple turnovers I could’ve took back. Overall, just a lackluster performance. I could’ve played a lot better. It wasn’t anything – I mean, give credit to New York.

They came out and played hard. It just wasn’t a version of Jaylen I know I can be," Brown added.
