Kevin Durant acknowledged the Brooklyn Nets went through a lot in 2022 and noted the team is now looking forward to hopefully achieving great things in 2023. Last season, there was a lot of drama and chaos surrounding the Nets, who got swept by the Boston Celtics in the playoffs first round.
At the start of this season, there was also drama surrounding the Nets. But lately, everything has been clicking for the Nets who have won 15 of their past 16 games. On Saturday, the Nets defeated the Charlotte Hornets on the road 126-103.

o 2023
"It was one of those years you reflect on and you see the turning points in the organization. We've seen different moments that brought us together as a group. You see, at this point now towards the end of the year, you start to see us come together and perform what we've been looking to do these last couple of years, which was a solid team that plays hard every night.
So we went through a lot in this calendar year, but we're looking for bigger and better things in 2023," Durant said after the game, per ESPN. In recent weeks, there hasn't been drama surrounding the Nets. Head coach Jacques Vaughn is doing well in his new role, Durant is healthy and there hasn't been drama surrounding Ben Simmons and Kyrie Irving.
Simmons, who struggled with his game at the start of this season, has since found his role. "A lot of ups and downs. I don't know. I don't know how to even sum it up. Basketball-wise I think it's been great. Start of the year we had some different expectations, a lot of noise, a lot of different things going on, but I think we had a lot of poise with this season and with all the different things going on so it's been an eventful year," Simmons said.
