NASCAR rivalries have always carried something special with them. Looking at the history of this sport, we had the opportunity to witness various rivalries that beautified this sport. Although such rivalries often involve conflicts, chaotic scenes, and many other things, over time it is forgotten and only memories of those beautiful moments of rivalry remain in the memory.

Ty Gibbs and Joey Logano currently have a rivalry that has been going on for a while. During his Actions Detrimental podcast, Denny Hamlin talked about the rivalry between these two great NASCAR drivers. He made a parallel between Gibbs and Logano and him and Ross Chastain. Hamlin tries to be unbiased, and observe the situation objectively. This is a unique situation, and we wonder how long it will last.

“This thing has got Denny Hamlin-Ross Chastain written all over it. I mean, it’s — it’s just brewing. It just keeps going. The two just keep going at it.

I don’t know. It’s my job here to be as unbiased as I can. I feel like I give all drivers fair shakes. It’s a little bit different with Ty, because he is a teammate. He’s someone that travels with me weekly. But also, I will not be afraid to call a spade a spade, if I see Ty doing something that’s blatantly wrong. … It seems like this has just been brewing for awhile, and they just can’t get on the same page to call it good. I understand that right? Me and Chastain went on for quite awhile, where we just could not see eye-to-eye, but this is just a unique situation, for sure.”- Denny Hamlin said, as quoted by

Denny Hamlin talks about a recent disagreement between Joey Logano and Ty Gibbs in NASCAR. He compares it to a situation he had with Ross Chastain in the past, suggesting that Logano and Gibbs have some work to do to resolve their differences. Hamlin thinks Logano is currently trying to intimidate Gibbs, but he warns that this approach is risky. The key to any conflict is healthy communication. However, athletes sometimes have a special attitude, and no one wants to deviate from their principles and attitudes. In such a situation, things only get worse.

Hamlin explains that Gibbs invited Logano to discuss the issue privately, but Logano preferred to address it immediately, possibly to unsettle Gibbs. Hamlin sees this as a dangerous move and points out that both drivers being angry with each other before the season even starts is not a good situation, especially considering their willingness to wreck each other on the track.

Fans of this sport know that they can expect duels between these two drivers on NASCAR tracks, but the question is what the outcome of such duels will be, and whether any of them knows how to draw the line.

He advises Gibbs to take the first step in resolving the conflict by extending an olive branch, meaning offering a gesture of peace. Hamlin emphasizes that if Gibbs doesn't reciprocate, it could make the situation worse, creating a tough and volatile environment for both drivers.

It will be interesting to follow the course of this season. Many drivers are maximally motivated to achieve their success, without choosing the means. It is especially dangerous to look at those who have specific conflicts, considering the events from the past that we have witnessed. Logano is an experienced driver and as such, he would have to think about his relationship with Gibbs. Communication can lead to a solution to the problem, but it seems that Joey is not ready for such an option at the moment.

Joey Logano explains the conflict with Ty Gibbs

Joey Logano is used to this kind of situation in his career. However, he doesn't understand why Gibbs is behaving the way he did in the last race. Even though they had a normal conversation before the race, it seems like Gibbs didn't register half of it. Logano confirmed that he was angry after everything, and told him so after the end of the race.

Joey still doesn't know what kind of relationship he will have with Gibbs in the future. At this moment, he is no longer ready to talk. Gibbs is probably now expected to make the first move and apologize to Logano for everything. It is hard to expect that this experienced driver will easily accept apologies.

The next race could reveal a lot. We will see if Logano will take an equally aggressive approach. Gibbs, on the other hand, has to think carefully about his next move.
