Chase Elliott had one of the toughest seasons of his career. This popular NASCAR driver failed to make the playoffs, but it seems that this won't prevent him from coming back even stronger next year. NBC analyst Kyle Petty is one of those who obviously has a lot of respect for Elliott and his career.
Petty emphasized in his analysis that Elliott has the qualities to show who he really is in the coming years. Sometimes things don't go exactly according to your plan.. “Chase is a champion, and chase is going to continue to move the Hendrick organization forward.
It’s just not your year, dude. You got to ride it out”. - Petty said, as quoted by on3.com!
Chase Elliott after the Daytona race
Elliott was visibly disappointed at the end of the Daytona race. In such moments, you have to accept things as they are.
Elliott will have a chance to learn a lot from this season and improve things next season. “I appreciate everybody’s support through this season that hasn’t been what I would want by any means. But certainly going to be some lessons taken from it, and I think we’ll be better for it on the other end.
”- Elliott said. With a win, Elliott would secure playoffs. It was a difficult task for him, but he was not far from achieving his goal. However, Buescher was more focused in those moments and managed to win. “I feel like we had an OK chance there, but Brad (Keselowski) and (winner Chris Buescher) just worked so well together there and they were able to stay locked-on.
They were so locked-on there … they just had a strangle-hold on the top lane. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t get to Kevin (Harvick) and stay there like that, and just make the bottom lane work. I kind of bottled it up there and just couldn’t get enough momentum going forward”.
