Spectators and fans of the sport were shocked by two crashes during the Coke Zero Sugar 400 on Saturday at Daytona International Speedway, which involved Ryan Blaney and Ryan Preece. At this moment, however, what is most important is that there were no serious consequences for either of the drivers.

There is no doubt that NASCAR's safety measures deserve a lot of credit. In the future, this needs to be a priority; to keep everyone safe, but also to prevent scenes like this from ever recurring on NASCAR tracks. Kyle Petty is one of those who emphasized how important NASCAR measures are and expressed particular happiness considering the consequences these two NASCAR drivers had.

“I think what stands out to me at Daytona more than anything else was the safety innovations that NASCAR has implemented in the car and in the tracks with the SAFER barriers,” Petty said, as quoted by yardbarker.com!

“We see Ryan Blaney walk away — the safer car. We see Ryan Preece walk away. Those are big, big moments in our sport. Those were two incredible hits”.

Ryan Blaney and his message

In a post on social media, Ryan Blaney stated that he is feeling well right now.

He is disappointed that it has come to this in the first place but seems to have accepted his fate. Having no major consequences was the most important thing to him. Blaney didn't forget his NASCAR colleague, Preece, either. He hopes that Preece will return to the big stage as soon as possible.

“I appreciate everyone’s support, I’m doing alright,” Blaney wrote on social media. “Getting hooked in the right rear in both Daytona races this year in the same exact spot because of someone’s terrible push is frustrating. Hope [Ryan Preece] is able to get back on his feet soon”.
