Aric Almirola, who drives for Stewart Haas Racing, has been confusing his fans as well as NASCAR fans a bit lately. After the 2021 season had concluded, Almirola announced that the 2022 season would be his last season in the sport.

In spite of that, Almirola then changed his mind and decided to stay in NASCAR. The question that many people have is whether Aric is still considering retirement, or if he will stay on with the team. Almirola revealed what he was planning to do in an interview he gave to the media.

“I think it’s still very fluid. I don’t have any timetable. By this time last year what I thought was going to happen ended up not happening, so I think, for me, it’s just get up every morning and continue to work hard at being the best race car driver I can be and we’ll see where things shake out,” Aric Almirola said.

Aric Almirola and his career

At the end of 2021, Aric Almirola was convinced that his career had come to an end, and he wanted to end everything. Who knows what happened behind the curtain, but one thing is certain; Aric Almirola loves NASCAR and the excitement it brings.

Obviously, Almirola had some kind of 'crisis' in those moments, which he successfully overcame. However, this does not mean that at some point he will still have to say goodbye. I want to win and I want to be a champion, but at the end of the day, I know that those things mean way less than being there for my family,” Almirola said at the end od 2021.
“I made it to the highest level of American motorsports as a professional race car driver.

It’s been amazing, with a lot of ups and downs and everything in between. I wouldn’t trade it for the world”.
