The Valencia post-season MotoGP test was an opportunity for KTM to understand where they can improve. In an interview with the media, Jack Miller revealed that his team is open to change and that they have a lot planned. Miller is aware that it takes some time to reach a certain level.
“We worked on a completely different traction control management. A whole different philosophy,” Miller said, as quoted by crash.net!
“We changed the engine brake a few weeks back, in terms of strategy. And now we’ve changed the traction control."
Miller has a lot of faith in the engineers and his team, and he expects them to really listen to his suggestions and make changes. KTM can be happy to have such a driver on the team.
“It's stuff we've been working on pretty much for 12 months. But Rome wasn't built in a day. You can't rewrite everything [code] in a week.
So this is stuff we've been working on all year… Well, I say we, the guys have been working on it. I've been complaining and they’ve been trying to fix it!”
Jack Miller on his results
Jack Miller was much criticized after coming to KTM. Many believe that he made a mistake looking at his results. However, Miller is optimistic and believes that he has learned a lot this season. He will use that to take a step higher in the following season. The team went through many changes and it was hard to expect anything more.
‘I think so. I feel like every year I’ve been getting better and better. And yeah, if you look at results on paper this year’s probably the worst it’s been in quite a while. But we’ve had a lot of changes, we’ve had a lot of difficulties this season. But we’ve also overcome a lot of things’.
