Former Major League Baseball All-Star pitcher Mark Melancon has listed his luxurious Anna Maria Island residence for a stunning $10.95 million. This move comes five years after Melancon and his wife, Mary Catherine, acquired the property for a mere $1.45 million in 2018.

Since then, they have transformed it into their dream home. Nestled in the picturesque Manatee County, Florida, this lavish abode sprawls over 5,921 square feet. The two-story waterfront mansion boasts six bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms, offering ample space and luxury.

Its prime location offers breathtaking views and an exclusive lifestyle. The interior of the residence is a blend of comfort and elegance. A cozy TV room sits above the spacious two-and-a-half-car garage, providing a perfect family retreat.

The kitchen is a chef's dream, featuring a 16-foot island and a six-foot galley sink, ideal for entertaining guests or family gatherings.

Melancon's Luxury Outdoor Oasis

The outdoor area of Melancon's property extends over an additional 1,618 square feet.

It includes a meticulously maintained artificial turf lawn and a well-equipped grill area. The highlight, however, is the stunning infinity pool and spa, complemented by a five-hole golf course that promises a realistic and enjoyable golfing experience.

Located in the serene Holmes Beach, the property offers protection against strong winds, enhancing its appeal. It includes two docks that not only accommodate boat storage but also provide an excellent fishing experience. Turning to Melancon's professional journey, the pitcher signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks on December 1, 2021, on a two-year contract valued at $14 million.

This deal included an optional extension for 2024, contingent upon mutual agreement. During his 2022 season with the Diamondbacks, Melancon appeared in 62 games, recording a 3-10 win-loss record, a 4.66 ERA, and 35 strikeouts.

He also secured 18 saves in 56 innings pitched, showcasing his enduring skill on the mound. However, Melancon's career faced a setback due to a right shoulder strain sustained during spring training in 2023. This injury, requiring a platelet-rich plasma injection, led to a 60-day placement on the injured list and ultimately cost him the entire season.

Consequently, the Diamondbacks chose not to exercise their option for the 2024 season, making Melancon a free agent as of November 5, 2023.
