Tiger Woods at The Masters: dream, joke or reality? Woods has been stationary for over a year due to last year's car accident, but the US champion could return to the field at Magnolia Lane. Tiger is physically in Georgia with his son Charlie to try the field.
The 86th edition of the Augusta Masters will start on 7 April and it goes without saying how much the wait is to see Woods on the field again. In these days Woods has been seen training in Florida at the Medalist Golf Club, with a video first posted on social media, then deleted, then republished.
Masters is the last major tournament played by Woods in November 2020.
Recently inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame Woods is back to walking but not yet as he would like. It is not yet known whether his presence at The Masters is a joke or reality: in 2015, Woods announced his presence on the pitch on the Friday of the week preceding the Masters.
As in 2016 and 2017, also on that day, he explained that he would not play.
Tiger Woods' career
Almost a year after the car accident, Tiger Woods was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame and thanked his family for their success.
Tiger Woods thus officially enters the Hall of fame at the age of 46 year-old, as reported by Sky Sports. 683 weeks from number one in the world, 13 years and two months. In five seasons, from 1999 to 2003, he won 32 tournaments in 101 appearances.
Between 2005 and 2009 he won 31 out of 75. He was Nominated Player of the Year ten times and as many finished at the top of the money list. Tiger Woods is one of only five golfers in history to have won the Grand Slam in addition to having won 15 Majors and collected a total of 82 successes.
"I wish my dad was here with me, he got me started playing," he said. Justin Thomas said about: "Tiger's earliest memory is at the 1997 Masters. What he has done for the game since is just monumental. I don't think I can even put it into words.
He had a huge impact and a strong influence on me." In 2014 he became the first sportsman in the world to have broken the billion dollar barrier. Astronomical figure that also justifies the fact that Tiger Woods can afford a yacht like the Privacy, a real fairytale boat.
And obviously we are talking about something that has cost a lot. Tiger Woods has won 110 professional tournaments, including 15 majors, in his multi-decade career, making him the most successful player in history. He held the top spot in the world rankings for a total of 683 weeks, including 281 consecutive weeks, and is the only golfer to have won all four major tournaments of the modern era in a single year.
In 2014 he became the first sportsman in the world to have exceeded a billion dollars in earnings from various sponsors. In 2019, President Donald Trump awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States of America.
