Tiger Woods and software company's agreement!

Tiger Woods will come back to bind himself with the gaming world, after the fruitful collaboration with EA Sports (the sports division of Electronic Arts, a US company active in the electronic games sector) which began in 1998 and which, in the course of fifteen years, it generated combined revenues of over $ 700 million for the company and nearly $ 100 million in Woods.

The American golfer and software company Take-Two Interactive have signed a licensing agreement that allows the New York-based company to use the name and image of the 15-time Major champion within the his video game series PGA Tour 2K, currently in its 2021 edition.

Although the economic terms of the negotiation were not disclosed, the parties confirmed the multi-year duration of the partnership and the appointment of Woods in the role of Executive Director, with consultancy and development tasks in the production of all the new themed video games.

At the same time, Take-Two Interactive, through its subsidiary 2K, announced the acquisition of the Canadian developer HB Studios, former developer of the videogame "PGA Tour 2K21", on the market since last August and which has recently crossed the finish line of the two million copies sold: the company would therefore like to replicate the success achieved with the NBA 2K sports series (now in its twenty-second chapter with NBA 2K21) and NFL 2K, in the past one of the company's major titles and which will return, for the first time time since 2005, starting next season.

Tiger said: "I was looking forward to my return to the video game landscape, and with 2K and HB Studios I found the right companions to do so. I am honored to have this opportunity and looking forward to make my experience and knowledge available for the future of golf games."

Currently, however, the main concern of the former number 1 in the world ranking is to try to return to the real greens, after the car accident that saw him protagonist last February 23 and in which he suffered multiple fractures to both legs: after almost a month of hospitalization, Woods has been able to return home only a few days and recovery times are still uncertain, despite the same champion wanted to reassure the fans through a tweet in which he assured to be at work to become every strongest day.
