Gary Player is a man with enormous experience and a substantial collection of trophies. It is redundant to discuss the legacy he forged by playing at the top for many years. The fact that many consider him the greatest speaks volumes.

This gives him the right to express his opinions, and simultaneously, many people respect such viewpoints. In an interview with Sky Sports, Player delved into an interesting topic. Player compared two great sports: Golf and tennis.

Is it harder to win tennis or golf majors?
"Golf is so different. My wife and I used to have many debates on if it's harder to win a golf Major or a tennis Major. My argument was that, in tennis, you've got to beat seven people.

In golf, you've got to beat 156."- Player said.

Gary Player loves tennis: Tennis is my favourite sport to watch

Although opinions are divided on both sports, Player believes golf has many variables that must be addressed.

In addition, in golf, you have more competition and you have to defeat many more golfers to get to the trophy. "In tennis, and I love tennis, it's my favourite sport to watch and (Novak) Djokovic is my favourite, but he's playing the same seven matches in the same seven conditions.

In golf, you can play this morning and it's a different golf course this afternoon. So there's so many variables in golf, like you've got to beat 156 guys and I don't think there's a comparison." However, these two sports should not be compared and should simply be enjoyed.

Throughout its history, tennis has gained enormous popularity, just like golf. Many have turned to sports life and career precisely because of these two sports. The fact is that these sports make the audience happy, enthusiastic, and passionate about the sport.
