LIV Golf has opened doors for many golfers since its creation. Big names decided to 'run' for money and build their careers on this Tour. During that period, many reactions followed, mostly negative ones. Although many believed that famous golfers would not come to LIV Golf, judging by Phil Mickelson's statements, the desire to come has never been greater.
Numerous golfers aspire to be a part of this competition. During the press conference, Mickelson responded to the question: Will there be more movements?
"Do I think that? No, I know that's going to happen. When players look at LIV, they want to be a part of it.
Everybody here is happy and enjoying what they're doing and enjoying the team aspect of it. Enjoying each other and the camaraderie, and enjoying bringing golf globally and all that comes with playing this tour."- Mickelson said, as per palmbeachpost.com
Phil Mickelson: There's a lot more players that want to come than have spots
Although many believed that LIV Golf would welcome new stars with open arms, Mickelson revealed that a limited number of golfers would be able to join.
"So there's a lot of players that see that and want to be a part of it. The question is how many spots are available? There's a lot more players that want to come than have spots." Many are wondering if Piot will return. Mickelson is clear and strongly defends his views.
Phil emphasized that he receives many calls on a daily basis. The desire of individuals to come is stronger than anything. Huge money, growing popularity as well as the desire for progress are the main motives.
"The reality is I've been fielding calls, as we all have, from players that are free agents to PGA Tour players to DP World Tour players that want to come over and the spots probably going to be filled by the time the qualifying tournament is here," Mickelson concluded.
