Ivor Robson died at the age of 83. Robson is a man who is known as a great golf enthusiast, and a man who has given a lot to golf. During his long career as a legendary starter of the Open, Robson left a positive impression on everyone and earned the respect of many.

Tiger Woods had the opportunity to meet him many times. Tiger Woods made numerous appearances at The Open, where he impressively clinched victory on three occasions. The legendary Tiger reacted to the death of Ivor via social media.

"Thank you Ivor for making each one of my Open starts so memorable," - Woods wrote.

Keith Pelley and his reaction

DP World Tour chief executive Keith Pelley emphasized how important a figure Robson was in the world of golf.

With his charity, openness, and honesty, he earned the sympathy of many. He was extremely respected and appreciated by golfers. This is not surprising, considering how hard he worked and how much he spread love and positivity.

“Ivor was a legend of the game and greatly respected by all those who had the pleasure to work alongside him. His iconic voice became a fixture of European golf and I know his passing is deeply felt by his former Tour colleagues and the many thousands of professional golfers who were warmly greeted by Ivor over such a long period.
