Cameron Smith is maximally motivated before the Masters at Augusta and wants to show his strength in the right way. The Australian has high expectations of himself and other LIV Golfers. It is certainly unusual for him to come to the tournament under completely different circumstances, but that seems to be an additional motive, especially after all the criticism he received.
"I think for me, I'm just trying to play the best golf I can. For me it's frustration when I'm playing like this on any tour," Cameron Smith said, as quoted by golfmonthly.com "As the LIV Tour grows and the fields get deeper and stronger and all that stuff unfolds, it's just going to be better and better.
I can't wait to see it unfold personally. I think the competition's there. I just don't think it's as deep. Like I said before, we have lots of good guys that have won lots of really prestigious tournaments, Majors. There's definitely lot of guys that keep you on your toes, and I don't think that's a problem.
I think I'm just not playing really good golf at the moment, and I'm trying to fix that."

Coming to LIV Golf meant a completely different environment. Smith is getting used to it all, and he's feeling great.
He emphasized that he misses the tournaments in which he no longer has the right to play. However, LIV Golf tries to make up for all that he lacks. "Yeah, for sure there's been a couple of tournaments that I really have enjoyed in the past that I feel like I've missed out on," he said.
"But at the same time, I've made my bed and I'm happy, very, very happy where I am. I'm happy to sleep in the bed I'm in basically. Yeah, I do miss certain tournaments, certain golf courses. I'm looking forward to this week playing against the guys for sure. But I don't know if I necessarily miss playing against any certain guys."
