Valtteri Bottas wins pole position in Mexico!

Valteri Bottas set the fastest qualifying time. The second is Lewis Hamilton, and the third is Max Verstappen. Valtteri Bottas did a fantastic job. The driver of the Mercedes raised his performance when it was most needed. The Finn drove a phenomenal two laps.

Already in the first lap, Q3 had a pole in his hands. He confirmed the first position and the fastest qualifying time in the last lap of the final part of the session. What Bottas did, the same can be said for Hamilton. The Briton also did a fantastic job.

He managed to get a higher starting position than his biggest competitor for the title. Hamilton twice had time for 2nd place. Great overture to the Mercedes driver for tomorrow's race. Max Verstappen finished in 3rd place.

The Dutchman looked like the biggest favorite to win the pole position. However, in the final part, the Red Bull driver failed, so he put himself in an awkward position as he has two Mercedes in front of him. One of the biggest losers is Sergio Perez.

The Mexican looked very strong and expected to be even in pole position. However, Checo did not look good after the first part of the final session. He tried to do something more in the last fast lap but made a mistake that cost him more positions.

In the end, he had to settle for 4th place. Great Pierre Gasly. The Frenchman was the best of the others. Pierre looked very fast all weekend, and he confirmed that in the moments when it was most important. The AlphaTauri driver did a good job for tomorrow’s race by placing 5th.

Carlos Sainz beat his teammate in the qualifiers. The Spaniard looked much ‘smarter’ from the start, and he managed to achieve that by finishing in 6th place.

Ferrari drivers

Daniel Ricciardo broke through to 7th place.

The Australian together with McLaren managed to recover from a bad start to the weekend where they were not among the 10 fastest. Still, Ricciardo made a step back when it was most needed. Charles Leclerc looks pretty strong at the start of qualifying.

The Monegasque had the fastest time in Q1, so a very good result was expected. After that, Leclerc got a little lost, so he stopped in 8th place. Yuki Tsunoda did a very good job for AlphaTauri. The Japanese finished in 9th place.

This result, along with Gasly, is extremely important for the race as Alpine is far from them and they are fighting for 5th place in the constructors ’championship. Lando Norris rounded out the top 10 fastest in qualifying for the Mexican GP.

Still, the Briton has a penalty so there will be a move backward. Lance Stroll will not remember the session for good. The Canadian caused a red flag in Q1 because he lost the car, which hit the rear and front end into the barrier.

Due to that, the session was stopped for over 25 minutes. In addition to this, the judges noted several drivers for the offenses they committed, one of them being Kimi Raikkonen. There are also Latifi and Russell. Their actions will be decided after the qualifications.
