AlphaTauri will retain its current driver lineup. The Alpha Tauri team has confirmed that they will keep their current driving lineup in 2022. Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda have shown that they get along well, and the team will need stability in this period when there is a big change in the rules.
Pierre Gasly was expected to remain part of the team. He is currently the leader at AlphaTauri and will remain part of the Red Bull family for some time to come. "I am very happy to stay with the Scuderia AlphaTauri for another season in Formula 1, especially after seeing the progress we have made as a team since I first joined in 2017."
"Seeing the performance we've shown so far this season, I think there are big things to achieve by the end of this and next year, especially with the upcoming 2022 rule changes. I can't wait to see what we can achieve in the new F1 era."
"This year has been very successful so far and I really believe we can work well together to be even better in 2022," said Gasly.
Tsunoda is grateful
Yuki Tsunoda is a rookie who had a great start but not such a great sequel to the season.
Still, the team decided to give Yuki another chance. We hope he will make the most of it. Tsunoda is grateful to his team and is aware that he certainly did not have the season he wanted, but of course, the expectations were not great considering that he is a debutant and that he will need time to adjust to a higher rank and bigger competition.
“I am really excited to stay with the Scuderia AlphaTauri in the second season. It's an amazing opportunity and I'm grateful to the team for allowing me to continue my Formula 1 experience with them. " It seems that Gasly and Tsunoda are cooperative, and that Gasly helped a lot to the young driver who is in his debut season, which of course implies a lack of experience, and Gasly is of great importance to him both now and in his future career.
“I have a very good relationship with Pierre, I have already learned a lot from him this year and his experience has helped me continue to develop my own skills, so it is great to continue my journey in Formula 1 with him. Having recently moved to Faenza, I feel much better and can’t wait for the upcoming season, ”Tsunoda said.
