Hamilton won on three wheels at Silverstone!

Third consecutive victory this season for Briton Lewis Hamilton in the Silverstone GP, where he reaches the seventh overall victory on this F1 Tour. Hamilton's Mercedes, which started from pole position, was at the head of the race from the first to the last lap, thus achieving the 87th success in his career.

After him, Max Verstappen crossed the finish line on Red Bull and Charles Leclerc's Ferrari. Although Hamilton led the race from start to finish, his victory was daring in the final phase of the Grand Prix, when Mercedes punctured two tires on both cars due to tires that reached the limit.

Hamilton, however, managed to cross the finish line for first, while Verstappen was forced to make one last pit stop as he was unable to take advantage of the unexpected from the race leader. The other Mercedes driver, Bottas, instead closed only in eleventh position.

Leclerc's Ferrari benefited from this and managed to climb the third step of the podium, followed by Ricciardo, Norris, Ocon, Gasly, Albon, Stroll and, in tenth position, the other Ferrari by Sebastan Vettel.

Hamilton: "My heart almost stopped!

"On the last lap my heart almost stopped": quiet and smiling, Lewis Hamilton at the end of the Silverstone GP, he tells us about his daring victory, which came after a race that he had dominated since the start.

"Up to the last lap everything went well," Hamilton said in the traditional post-race interview. "When I heard about Bottas's problem with the tires, I looked at mine and it seemed everything was in order, the car was bending smoothly and I didn't think anything would happen."

"I also raised the pedal a little, then the tire exploded. I found myself with my heart in my throat, the world champion continued - I didn't know if I would reach the finish line, I was afraid of going off the track by touching the brakes.

I felt that the advantage over Verstappen was dropping, I put my foot on the gas again, I never tried anything like this on the last lap, almost my heart stopped at that moment. I don't know how I got to the end. Maybe we should have stopped and change the tires after the Bottas' problem."
