Martin Brundle is a man who has enormous respect for Carlos Sainz. Speaking on the Sky Sports F1 Review Show, Brundle emphasized that he knows Sainz's father, and had special words of praise for Sainz's mentality.

“I’ve always been a fan of Carlos Sainz, I know him from a long time ago because I like his spirit and I know his dad well and I like his mentality."- he said, as quoted by f1oversteer.com!

It seems like Brundle holds a strong belief in Leclerc's speed, considering him not only faster than Sainz but also quicker than all other competitors. Despite Brundle's acknowledgment of Sainz's capabilities, his confidence in Leclerc's speed seems to be at the forefront.

“So, you watch Carlos sort of creeping up on things. I think Charles [Leclerc] is outright faster if I’m honest, and you could argue that Charles is perhaps the very fastest driver on the grid in 2023 in terms of some of his pole position laps."- he continued.

Martin Brundle: Leclerc hasn't converted any of the last 12 poles

Martin shared his opinion regarding Leclerc's chances and the fact that he did not take advantage of the pole positions. Looking at this season and Max Verstappen's dominance, it's hard to fault any driver. The Dutchman was so impressive that it was hard to even think about the 1st place. Next season could be a chance to stop Max Verstappen's dominance. Whether Leclerc or someone else can succeed in this remains to be seen. It will be exciting in any case.

But he hasn’t converted any of the last 12 poles Leclerc into a victory and that’s not all his fault. I think [Max] Verstappen has played a big role in that and the car and the reliability and a couple of dodgy strategy calls.”
