Although many anticipate Red Bull's dominance in the upcoming season, Jenson Button isn't convinced it will actually happen. Max Verstappen has been dominant this season, seemingly unstoppable on multiple occasions. Jenson Button, a former F1 driver, understands the fierce competitiveness of Formula 1 and how other teams eagerly await any slight error.

He emphasizes the constant need for vigilance; the smallest mistake can change the outcomes and lead to downfall. Button recently spoke about this aspect. “I think the sport is even more competitive now, there’s so many big teams fighting at the front,” -Button said.

Button believes that the race in Brazil showed a lot. On the one hand, we had the opportunity to see Red Bull, which was not so convincing. Nevertheless, they achieved victory. On the other hand, McLaren showed that they can be dangerous down the stretch.

Button also thinks that Mercedes is going in the right direction and that they could improve their form.
"One tiny slip up and you are the fourth-best team. To catch Red Bull is difficult but they [Mercedes] are getting closer.

Brazil wasn’t a good example but this second part of the season, you’ve seen teams like McLaren and Mercedes, both fighting very closely with the Red Bulls. Max has had that little advantage but Checo hasn’t."

Jenson Button predicts the next season: We could have an upset next year

This legendary F1 driver wants to see more exciting seasons.

For sure, watching the dominance of one team is not interesting for many people, including Button. “We could have an upset next year. I don’t think it’s going to be all Red Bull’s way. This year was an exceptional year for that team and I don’t feel it will be the same next year.

Which is what the sport needs. We need a little bit of a mix up”. Source: Crash.net
