After his disappointing season at Red Bull, many believe that Perez will not stay with the team. However, things went even further. Recently, the media has been talking more and more about the chances of the Mexican retiring.
Sergio Perez had an interesting reaction to the media captions; “I'm just laughing at it. There’s nothing I can do [to stop the rumours]. I’m fully focused on my job, but it really sums up my season - a guy says something about me and then all of a sudden it becomes true”.

Sergio Perez and Red Bull contract
Sergio emphasized that he wants to remain loyal to Red Bull and that he still has one year left on his contract. He is ready to give his maximum and continue the adventure in this team.
"I have a contract for next year. I have no reason not to fulfil that contract. I'm going to give my very best to it. I've made a commitment. But more than that, it will not be my final contract in F1. I'm with Red Bull and I want to stay with Red Bull, and obviously, it has to work out for both sides.
I'm just enjoying it at the moment. I love the challenge of getting back out of it [his struggles] and at 33, I think I have some good years ahead of me."
His goal in the coming period is to improve his form and be the Perez that fans want to watch.
It is obvious that things are not going very well for him. The statements of individuals within Red Bull are also not really in favor of the Mexican. However, he is ready to show his qualities in the challenges that will follow. “As an athlete, you want to maximise your career. That to me, is important, and that's my focus”.
