Before he extended his contract with Mercedes in August, many wondered if Hamilton would really continue his adventure in Mercedes. It seemed as if Lewis no longer wanted to be part of the team, and that he saw his future elsewhere.
However, Wolff and Hamilton managed to agree on the details. Many times they previously emphasized that there are certain details that they have to work on. Speaking to Blick, Hamilton revealed what details they discussed; “This isn't the first time the two of us have discussed and haggled over details for hours,” he said, as quoted by crash.net!
“Always under the motto: From Thursday to Sunday I belong exclusively to Formula 1”. Hamilton is someone who does a lot of things outside of the F1 world. His work is not limited to F1 but is focused on much more than that.
“There are so many details about my promotional activities. I'm in a fortunate position with Toto. He is respected and admired by everyone. It's easy to negotiate with him. And that makes him a great leader”.
Lewis Hamilton and his contract
Reporters were interested in whether Hamilton is still reading the contract, which is obviously long.
It takes some time to 'absorb' all the things. “Of course I want to know exactly what's in there. But now it's over 200 pages or a damn book. And that takes you days!” It seems that Hamilton has less and less 'hunger' for success over the years.
When things aren't going your way, it's quite normal to lose your motivation sometimes. "I have to admit that I underestimated my love for this sport. But it's become a love-hate story. There are days when I would prefer not to get into the cockpit. The duels with my teammate George also give me motivation. You always have to be wide-awake”.
