Jenson Button: I would be more afraid of Max Verstappen than Lewis Hamilton

Jenson Button, once a great F1 driver, spoke about Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in one of his interviews. The Brit believes that Max would be a tougher opponent than Hamilton. This statement came after Hamilton spoke a few days ago that it was more difficult for him to compete with one of his teammates than with Max.
“I think Lewis has had some very tough team-mates. But, for me, I would be more fearful going up against Max in the same car”- Button said, as quoted by formulanerds.com!
Adrian Newey and Max Verstappen
Jenson Button is aware of the quality of the Dutchman, but there are other things that make Button think that Max currently has the dominance.
“I think it is because the car is designed around his style, or he can drive a car that Adrian Newey gives him”. Adrian Newey, the chief technical officer at Red Bull, seems to be doing everything to make Max 'the greatest ever'
The Dutchman is really dominating this season, and it is expected that he could continue at the same pace in the next one.
“Adrian Newey gives him a car that says ‘this is the quickest car in the world. If you take away front downforce, it will go slower but be easier to drive”.
Of course, Button did not want to underestimate the qualities of Verstappen. “Max is like ‘right, I have to drive how you made this car and I need to drive it as good as I can’. I think he’s very good at that and I think a lot of drivers struggle to compete with that”.
Jenson Button highlighted the three F1 drivers who are currently dominating and who are 'far' from the others. “I wish there was more competition at the front between Max, Lewis and Fernando. Those are the three that stand out for me”.
