Horner reacts to Toto Wolff's comments: It shows a total lack of understanding

Christian Horner, CEO of the Red Bull team, reacted to Toto Wolff's recent statements in which he said that Red Bull developed a car around one driver. Not long after, Max Verstappen denied Toto Wolff and emphasized that this was not the case.

However, the most interesting reaction is the one from Horner, who believes that Wolff does not understand things very well. "Well, I think I completely agree with Max," Horner said, as quoted by skysports.com! "It shows a total lack of understanding of how a race car and team develop, if Toto thinks that we're developing a car around a single driver.

You develop a car to be as quick as you can and sometimes quick cars are difficult cars - that's what's historically been the case."

Max Verstappen is currently the leading driver on the F1 scene. The Dutchman is far from his competition, and the new title is close to him.

Horner emphasized that Max is the type of driver who can adapt to any conditions. It is precisely this advantage that makes him the best at the moment. "I think that drivers adapt. The good drivers that you see in wet conditions, mixed conditions, varied conditions, the elite, they adapt quickly and I think that's one of his (Verstappen's) key skill sets is his ability to adapt to the feeling and the grip levels that a car gives him." Red Bull shows dominance from season to season.

This season is still something special. Few expected that they would be this convincing. Horner emphasized that both drivers have the same treatment and that the main goal is the progress of the team and winning the championship!

"But there's certainly no direction to say, 'oh, we tailor something to suit one specific driver', we're just trying to design and build the fastest car that that we can, that our tools, our simulation or our wind tunnel provide us with that direction."
