His contract extension caused a lot of reactions. Alpine driver Pierre Gasly is one of the first to speak out after Lewis extended his contract. This great driver emphasized that Hamilton was an important factor in F1, especially for young drivers who had the chance to speak openly about everything.

I think the mentality has changed slightly, especially if you look to other sports, NBA in the States it’s very different I think people have a lot more space to express themselves."- Gasly said, as quoted by crash.net!

Pierre Gasly on Hamilton

Gasly is someone who has enormous respect for Hamilton. He told him that many times. Lewis Hamilton is one of the few who, in addition to his F1 career, advocates other things and promotes positive stories on the F1 scene.

Although there are many who are against it, Hamilton does not look back on such things. “I’ve always told him [that I respect him]. Actually I get on very well with Lewis, I often thank him for sticking to his values and to himself all these years because now it’s definitely made the path smoother for us young drivers”.
