Pierre Gasly pleased with his best season so far

For Pierre Gasly, this season has been very successful, and after being confirmed by AlphaTauri for 2021, the Frenchman says that his expectations are growing and that he is ready to take on more responsibility. Last summer Gasly was kicked out of Red Bull and sent to Toro Rosso.

It seemed to many that this moment would be the beginning of the end of his career, but quite the opposite happened. Pierre got to his feet and achieved some fantastic results in the past year. With Toro Rosso, he was third at the Brazilian Grand Prix in late 2019, to achieve a sensational victory for AlphaTauri at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza this year.

In the ranking of drivers he is in tenth place with 63 points. "This year has been very successful so far. We came away with the second win for the team, and my first in Formula 1. In team history this is the highest number of points scored by a single driver.

So, everything is going extremely well and I look forward to next year."

Progress

Gasly wants to progress and show the strength of his team "I will try to be even better, to achieve even more. AlphaTauri has great ambitions, and I will be happy to take on even more responsibilities within the team and bring it the success it deserves, ”says the Frenchman.

“It will be the first time in my F1 career that I will stay on the same team for the second year. I feel we have a good understanding of what we need to be competitive, and the team knows well what I need to put in my hands to be fast.

Gasly has taken the lead role and seems to have serious plans for the future and of course expects good results “We know in which areas we need to improve and it is an important part of my job to lead the team in the right direction when it comes to car development and the parts we need to develop.

We need to progress, go faster and faster in order to meet our goals, and that is to finish as much as possible in the ranking of the constructors' championship. ” At the last race in Imola Gasly experienced disappointment when he had to give up due to a technical malfunction, after being a brilliant fourth in qualifying. But a new opportunity comes to him in a week, at the Turkish Grand Prix.
