Franz Tost pleased with Kvyat's performance

AlphaTauri boss Franz Tost comments that the reason for Daniil Kvyat's fantastic fourth place is a successful strategy, not luck. Kwiat spent most of the race in eighth place, and went into boxing in the late stages of the race when Max Verstappen withdrew from the race and challenged Safety Car in the process.

The Russian was behind Sergio Perez who also went to the pits for new soft tires. In front were Alexander Albon, Charles Leclerc and Daniel Ricciardo who decided to gamble on old tires to get a position on the track. In the end, Quiat did a fantastic job on the soft and very quickly skipped Perez and Red Bull by Alexander Albon.

With a nice maneuver, he took fourth place from Charles Leclerc, but did not go next to Daniel Ricciard. "I will put it this way, we were unlucky but we made the right decision. The others could have done the same as we did, ”says Tost.

"Some are, some are not. We profited by the decision because we were in seventh place and finished in fourth behind Ricciardo. If there were a few more laps left, I believe (Kwiat) would have overtaken him as well. ”

Kvjat and Leclerc

Toast also commented on Kvjat’s nice move next to Leclerc and the fight with Ferrari for sixth place in the constructors ’standings.

“Fantastic move. Daniil was also very good in qualifying. He likes this track, he is very happy with the car and he drove very, very well. ” "We are not interested in fighting Ferrari. We are doing the best possible job, in the end we will see what the result will be.

" On the eve of the weekend in Turkey, Toast said that it will not be easy, but that they are fast everywhere. He believes that his drivers will have to be 100% concentrated this time if they want to achieve a good result.

There is a big dilemma whether it will be good or bad weather and considering it the players will have to change the way of racing and adapt to the conditions on the track “I have to say we have a pretty good car because we are fast on every track since the Belgian GP.

Each of these trails had different characteristics, so I believe we will be good in Istanbul as well. ” “The track is very demanding, especially on tires. We will have to be careful because of the long fast turns. Temperatures are also very low, there may be rain, ”he concludes.
