In an exciting departure from tradition, Williams Racing recently put the design choice of their Formula 1 car livery in the hands of their dedicated fans. The livery that will adorn their FW45 car during three of the upcoming Formula 1 races was selected through a popular fan vote, marking a first in the team's illustrious history.
The Power of the Vote
Over 180,000 fans participated in the vote, opting between four liveries: Heritage, Bolder than Bold, Visionary, and Contemporary. With an overwhelming majority, the "Bolder than Bold" livery emerged victorious, confirming that it would be the livery to grace the cars driven by Williams' drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant in Singapore, Japan, and Qatar.
The official unveiling of the chosen livery is set to take place at the highly anticipated Goodwood Festival of Speed. Fans and spectators will be treated to a show car donning the new colors at the Williams stand during this celebrated motor event.
Celebrating Milestones and Looking Forward
The fan-chosen livery is not the only special design feature that the Williams team has sported recently. Just last week, the team had a unique look at the Silverstone race, intended to commemorate the team's monumental 800th race in Formula 1.
Originally planned for Silverstone, the celebration was moved to Hungary due to the unfortunate cancellation of the race in Italy. The winning design encapsulates the essence of the Gulf and Williams Racing partnership. It is a nod to the rich history of both entities while also casting a promising gaze toward the future.
Gulf International CEO, Mike Jones, expressed his gratitude to the fans and his excitement for the collaboration with Williams Racing. He emphasized that the overwhelming response wouldn’t have been possible without the fans, making this competition all the more special.
