Despite the fact that Sebastian Vettel is no longer a part of the Aston Martin team and F1 scene, he has left a lasting impression. Vettel had an impact on the current season even though his last season was not ideal. It has been revealed by the team principal Mike Krack that Vettel has a great influence on the current Aston Martin car, given that last year he said what Aston Martin needed to work on most in order to generate success.
The results they have achieved this year are a testament to Vettel's brilliant understanding of the situation. "I think he has his merits in where the [AMR23] is today," Krack said, as quoted by crash.net "We had many, many meetings last year where he gave us a hint: ‘Do this, or do that, or do not do this with the new car’.
So I think he has his merits in here."
Mike Krack talks about Seb Vettel's retirement
During the interview, Krack also replied to the reporter's question about whether Vettel retired too soon or not. Mike isn't interested in getting into such things, and it is obvious that he respects Vettel's decision to go his own way.
"We have to respect the decision that he took. He reflected for a long time before he made that decision, and he has to move on. If it's a shame for him, I think you should ask him." Fernando Alonso is doing great things this season.
Krack is satisfied with the Spaniard and his motivation. "He brought a lot of energy, a lot of positiveness when he arrived," said Krack. "He is leading by example at all times. He's there very early, he's working really hard and it is this leading by example that everybody just sees and grabs on and gives an extra level of motivation."
