Daniel Ricciardo will leave McLaren at the end of the season. The announcement is official and arrived on social media from the British team and the driver. Two seasons for him at McLaren, the arrival in 2021 from Renault, a triumph at Monza in September 2021 and the eighth place in the World Championship.
His farewell could open Piastri in McLaren, who will first have to settle with Alpine after the recent announcement and denial of his new role as replacement driver for Fernando Alonso. Four times in points this year: in Australia, Azerbaijan, Austria and France.

His parents both have Italian origins: his father, Joe Ricciardo, was born in Ficarra, in the metropolitan city of Messina, and arrived in Australia at the age of seven after the family moved, while his mother's family, Grace Pulitanò , has Calabrian origins, more precisely from Casignana, the town from where his grandparents, Antonio Pulitanò and Paola Tallariti, emigrated in the fifties.
It is nicknamed The Honey Badger, because, according to him, it is the most fearless animal in the world. When you look at him he looks very cute, but if you try to enter his territory he becomes very ferocious, he is not afraid of anything, tigers or pythons.

During the summer break in August, a few days after the resumption of the championship with the Belgian Grand Prix, Ricciardo himself announced his divorce at the end of the year with the McLaren team despite having a contract for the 2023 season.
