Curiosities about Ricciardo

His parents both have Italian origins: his father, Joe Ricciardo, was born in Ficarra, in the metropolitan city of Messina, and arrived in Australia at the age of seven after the family moved, while his mother's family, Grace Pulitanò , has Calabrian origins, more precisely from Casignana, the town from where his grandparents, Antonio Pulitanò and Paola Tallariti, emigrated in the fifties.

It is nicknamed The Honey Badger, because, according to him, it is the most fearless animal in the world. When you look at him he looks very cute, but if you try to enter his territory he becomes very ferocious, he is not afraid of anything, tigers or pythons.

It changes very quickly, but it is a good animal. The animal is depicted on the back of his helmet. His race number is 3. In 2022 he continues with the McLaren team. During pre-season tests in Bahrain, Ricciardo tests positive for COVID-19 and is forced to skip all three days of testing.

After a difficult start to the season, Ricciardo gets his first points of the season with a sixth place in his home Grand Prix. Other points arrive in the sprint disputed in Imola, while in the following three races Ricciardo is unable to obtain further useful placings.

He returned to points at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, in which he finished eighth ahead of his teammate. After two more races closed outside the top 10, Ricciardo closes the Austrian Grand Prix and the French Grand Prix in ninth place.

During the summer break in August, a few days after the resumption of the championship with the Belgian Grand Prix, Ricciardo himself announced his divorce at the end of the year with the McLaren team despite having a contract for the 2023 season.
