Tom Dumoulin retires from cycling?

Tom Dumoulin, cyclist of the Jumbo-Visma team has announced that he will take an indefinite break from cycling. He said: "I made this decision on Friday. The team supports me in this and I feel very good.

I feel like I have freed myself from a weight of one hundred kilos from my shoulders. This morning I woke up happy. It is so good to have finally taken the decision to take some time for myself and this I think says it all ...

I have been feeling for some time how difficult it is for me to find myself as Tom Dumoulin the cyclist, with the pressure that comes with it and the expectations that come from many sides. I want to do well for many people, I want the team to be happy with me, I want the sponsors to be satisfied, I want my wife and my family to be happy.

So I want to do well for everyone, but because of that I got a little bit aside in the last year. But what do I want? I still want to be a runner, but how? What does the man Tom Dumoulin want? What do I want to do with my life 'is the question that has been buzzing in my head for a few months."
