The 3rd match of the ICC World Cup 2023 was between Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Bangladesh won the toss and made the wise decision to bowl first. The Afghani batsmen got off to a good start, but Bangladesh's strong bowling attack broke the momentum; after the first wicket fell, the entire team collapsed and failed to establish a partnership, which restricted Afghanistan to a low total of 156 runs in 37.2 overs.

It was a fantastic bowling performance from Bangladesh; if they continue to bowl like this, they will be a threat to every team they face from now onwards. As far as the 2nd innings is concerned, Afghanistan took 2 crucial wickets in the first 10 overs that slowed down Bangladesh's run rate however, after getting some grip, Bangladesh accelerated and chased down the total in 34.4 overs and won the match by 6 wickets.

After the recent win, they have grabbed the 4th spot in the points table. Watch the entire match highlights below on the official ICC World Cup 2023 Website:https://www.cricketworldcup.com/video/3725900

Post-match interviews

Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh's captain):

"Very happy with the way we played," Shakib Al Hasan said as quoted by cricbuzz.com.

"We believed if we got a wicket, we could come back in. Wasn't easy for few players, but happy with the way we batted and bowled. We have been practising here. We need to adapt to these things (tough outfields) if we want to win.

We got three, four fast bowlers, they can change any game and I hope they will bowl well in the upcoming games, it's a long tournament. He (Mehidy) has been playing very well. Shanto is another one in the dressing room, they always want to perform well for the team.

Hashmatullah Shahidi (Afghanistan's captain):

"We had a good start, but we had bad shot selections after that," Shahidi said as quoted by cricbuzz.com. "I think we fought well, but the score wasn't good enough. Looking forward to the next game. Need to learn from our mistakes, need to make sure it doesn't happen again.
