The wait is over; India has finalized their squad for Asia Cup 2023. Kl Rahul and Shreyas Iyer will finally be making a return and serving their role as no.4 batsmen. It is worth knowing that Tilak Varma has also been selected after having a successful series against West Indies.

Asia Cup starts on 30th August, and India will be playing their first match on the 2nd of September against their most intense rivals, Pakistan. Out of all the experienced players in the team, Hardik Pandya has been appointed as the vice-captain.

The sad thing for most fans is the exclusion of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin. However, this is not the final World Cup squad; Rohit Sharma recently assured that Ashwin and Chahal could definitely make it for the world cup playing XI.

Bumrah’s return has turned out to be spectacular, which is nothing but a healthy sign for team India – it will be very interesting to see his performance in the Asia Cup; his contributions will play a huge role in restricting other teams to a low total. As far as the batting side is concerned, it’s strange to see India test Kl Rahul one more time, even after he failed to perform well successively.

This Indian team is filled with Youngsters, and it’s a beautiful opportunity for them to showcase their skills and prove that India is in safe hands. The entire world is going to tune in for this massive event, and cricket fans are in for a treat as this year is packed with back-to-back ODI cups.
