Bumrah's performance in the Ireland series will play a huge role in fixing his spot in the final playing 11 squad, and in less than a few hours, we will find out if the inactivity improved or worsened his skills as a cricketer.
Bumrah last played in September 2022.
Jasprit Bumrah's thoughts on the return
Jasprit Bumrah reflected on his recovery time and explained how he avoided having self doubts. He is really looking forward to making his return.
"All good. Very happy to be back. Been working really hard at the NCA. It's been a long road but everything is good, my body feels good and I'm looking forward to playing some cricket," Bumrah said, as quoted by cricbuzz.com. "Feels nice to be back.
I want game time and it'll be great to play again so I am looking forward to it". "So it's not like I am bowling with a restriction or I am holding back. Obviously when you're with the Indian team and here where the weather is good, you enjoy bowling.
Bumrah further said: I am not holding back, the body feels good and I'm looking forward to the games coming up. At times, when the injury takes time to fully heal it can get frustrating. But instead of having self-doubts that maybe I won't recover, I was only thinking about how to get better and how quickly I can get back to the field. Obviously, it is important that when the body needs time, you respect it.
